A retired FEI competitor in dressage, I’m very proud to have earned my United States Dressage Federation Bronze and Silver Medals.

After I retired from training and showing horses, I decided to try my hand at writing novels in paranormal and science fiction romance. I remember writing my first short story while still in grade school, (yes, science fiction) so I guess it’s always been in my blood. I’ve used the unique personalities of my many wonderful students to help bring life to my characters. Though I taught children to ride horses, (their young minds like a little sponge soaking up the information) most of my student were adults. It could be quite challenging trying to figure out how to get through to each of these unique personalities, each one taking a little different approach.

My husband Lee and I make our home in the beautiful State of Oregon with our two loyal German shepherds, one energetic border collie, and two very spoiled cats. I try to give animals a special place in my novels, their offer of unconditional love a lifeline in this difficult world. We enjoy spending time camping and fishing with our children and grandchildren in the summers.

If you have any questions for me or are interested in one of my novels, please leave a message here and I’ll get right back to you. E-mail addresses will not be posted public.

Hey, what’s happened to your daughters picture! I commented on that. I do like your new cavern picture though, very much…

I’m trying to get up a new copy, one that will fit in better. I should put it up anyway, just so people can see it. I think she did a great job. Thanks for dropping by.

Wow, you’ve really gone to town on this site since the last time I saw it. Congratulations on the book. Any idea when it is coming out yet?

I don’t have a release date yet, but I’m up on the author list now. So exciting!! I’ll let you know when I get a date. Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Have you got any bites on your Old Ones novels? I love reading about J.T. She’s a great character.

No interest in the novels lately, except from one guy who said one of my short stories would make a good novel. So, uh, halfway there! I see that I misplaced a question mark in my last comment, though, which won’t help solidify my rep as a wordsmith.

    • Denna Holm says:

Question mark all fixed. I’m still trying to figure out how to move around in these things. Haven’t been in touch for awhile. Anything new happening?

Nice to meet you Denna! I love meeting science fiction writers, and look forward to reading your novel! 😀

Hi Liza, thanks for dropping by. I’m always excited to meet another person who likes science fiction. I can’t remember a time when it hasn’t facinated me. My first short story was written at the tender age of 11 or 12. What fun. Looking forward to sharing likes and dislikes with you.

  5. Hello, Denna. I’m just calling in from YouWriteOn (where I am Sarsen) during my usual 60 minute ramble around the internet.
    Best wishes
    Harry

Hi Harry, I’m very pleased to see you here. It’s fun moving around and seeing what everyone is up to, isn’t it? I sure enjoy finding how well everyone from YouWriteOn is doing. It’s always been one of my all time favorite critique sites. I wanted to let you know while you’re here that I did purchase your novel. I remember reading the beginning chapters at YouWriteOn and I’m really looking forward to reading the rest. I hope all is going well for you and sales are up. I plan to post a review just as soon as I get a second to sit down and read. My life went a little crazy in the last couple of months. Really great to see you. Stop by again sometime and let me know what you’ve been up to. 🙂 I’ll come by soon and visit you at your author site.

Hi, Denna. I witnessed your unfortunate run-in with the militant “hostiles” on a certain book-related website. I appreciate your trying to stand up for fairness and civility, and I’m sorry that you had to endure that blatant hostility. Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that once “they” get on a roll, they can’t be stopped, and it’s best to just quit feeding their obsession. By the way, I think your webpage is very nice-looking. I’ll have to come back and check out the writing competitions I see listed. 🙂 Take care and keep the faith!

    • Denna Holm says:

Hi Jean, yes, it was fun, wasn’t it? I know how cruel people can be and I just can’t help myself sometimes, I have to get in there and see if I can get them to see reason. They may have thought they got the last say, but I’m sitting back laughing because no one is attacking anybody else now. Discussions have been rather civil, people able to give an opinion and not get eaten alive. It’s all I asked. I thank you for your concern and I probably will think twice about getting into the middle of it again. It ate up too much of my time and I just don’t have it to spare. 🙂 Very nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by.

  8. Samantha says:

    Hi!
Do you have an email? (I wanted to ask some questions about your books!?)

  9. Stephanie says:

I have enjoyed reading Claimed by Nicolai and Claimed by Rafe. I have also started on House of Pain. I look forward to future editions of both series; I generally dislike this genre but you changed my mind completely.

    • Denna Holm says:

I’m very happy to hear you have enjoyed both series. Claimed by Seraphym, the third story in the Raiden Warriors series should release later this year. Wrath of Justice, the sequel to House of Pain, should release sometime next summer. Thank you for stopping in. I appreciate the feedback. Happy reading. 🙂
